About the Role
We're hiring a senior, hands-on Enterprise Data Warehouse Architect to own the design, implementation, and evolution of our DW/BI platform. This isn't a pure strategy role — you'll be deeply involved in architecture decisions and actual delivery, working across data modeling, ETL/ELT, analytics, security, and governance.
If you're the kind of architect who still enjoys getting into the weeds of a complex data problem, mentoring a team, and seeing your work power real business decisions — this is the role for you.
What You'll Do
Architecture & Development
- Design and implement end-to-end, resilient Data Warehouse architecture with a focus on data quality, error handling, auditability, and scalability
- Develop and manage enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Marts supporting current and future analytics needs
- Model and implement dimensional data structures (facts, dimensions) using industry best practices
- Design, build, test, and deploy large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines
- Review existing DW/BI architecture to identify gaps, redundancies, and optimization opportunities
- Propose and drive improvements to data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions
Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Build enterprise reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and advanced analytics solutions
- Analyze complex datasets to surface trends, patterns, and actionable business insights
- Ensure BI solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and usability
Security, Governance & Compliance
- Own the end-to-end DW security architecture — from design through implementation
- Define and enforce authentication, authorization, and data access controls
- Implement policy-, rule-, and attribute-based access controls
- Manage data-at-rest and data-in-transit security
- Apply data governance best practices for lineage, stewardship, and regulatory compliance
Leadership & Delivery
- Serve as technical lead and mentor for the DW/BI team
- Partner with business stakeholders, data stewards, and IT teams to define requirements and timelines
- Translate complex requirements into clear, implementable architectural strategies
- Track delivery milestones, risks, and dependencies proactively
Operations & Quality
- Provide senior-level production support including troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Produce high-quality project artifacts — specs, test plans, ops guides, DR plans
What We're Looking For
- 8–12 years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Data Warehousing, BI, and Analytics
- Expert-level command of the Microsoft BI stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS (Tabular/Multidimensional), SSRS, Power BI
- Strong SQL programming, data modeling, and ETL/ELT development skills
- Deep understanding of DW/BI security, performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
- Experience delivering BI through enterprise portals with robust security controls
- Familiarity with SQL Server Agent or other orchestration/scheduling tools
- Strong documentation discipline — specs, architecture reviews, DR plans
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Big Data architectures and technologies
- Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Data Fabric or Databricks
- Cloud-based DW modernization experience
Who Thrives Here
You're self-driven, detail-obsessed, and comfortable owning a platform end-to-end. You can hold an architecture conversation with a CTO and a debugging session with a junior dev on the same day. You bring structure to ambiguity and take pride in clean, well-documented, production-grade work.
